LET IT GO!

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
You can’t out wait God, The Creator of waiting.
I say that because we don’t know how long He waited before He decided to say "let there be light." (Genesis 1:3)
And we don't know how much longer He waited before He actually SAID it.
See, "In the beginning" (Genesis 1:1), is just where He made us privy to something He had been waiting 'God-knows-how-long' to do.
My point, you're not gonna out wait God.
And you're really not going to win that contest when He's told you to let something go.
You know you are weary and burdened by holding on to it anyway.
We are tired with you because you've complained to us about it - BRAH, LET IT GO!
It's amusing how admirable we think it is to hold on to a NOUN (person, place or thing) in hopes that God will change his mind after He’s said let it go.
He doesn’t have to let you know why he’s telling you to let go.
We’re all on a need to know basis with God!
All you need to know, in this case, is He said let it go!
When we don't, the truth is, we’re being disobedient.
Can God change his mind? ABSOLUTELY YES!
Ask Moses and Hezekiah (Exodus 32:7-14, Isaiah 38:1-5), but I guarantee you it was already in His plan. When Moses 'reminded' Him that He wouldn't destroy His people after they made a golden calf, God wasn’t like "oh Moses that’s a novel idea, I’ll try it" LOL, .
I believe God inevitably had a plan for that "change of mind".
But, let's be clear - your name ain’t theirs, is it? LOL
-- so if God said let something go then LET IT GO!
He wants you to let it go so he can give you what you need for His plan.
SPOILER ALERT!
Just because a thing is hard or you’re afraid to let go, doesn’t mean to keep holding on to it.
Holding on after He said let go is disobedience no matter what it is or how hard it is to let it go.
This is going to be hard to fathom but sometimes God wants you to cry when you let go.
2 Corinthians 7:10 says : For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
So yeah, while letting go can be painful, God knows what you sow in tears you’ll reap in joy and the joy of The Lord is your strength! (Psalm 126:5, Nehemiah 8:10 )
Man, let that thing go at the altar and let it burn up so he can give you a garment of praise for those ashes! (Isaiah 61:3)
Our obedience in letting go is better than sacrificing our relationship with Him if we keep holding on!
You won’t let go of why they said that thing to you 32 years ago and you think holding on is getting you vengeance but none of us are big enough or wise enough to wield God’s vengeance—He says it’s His!
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19
God is merciful and He’s given each of us a different grace (period).
Stop trying to live in someone’s else’s grace (period)!
...see what I'm doing there with "GRACE PERIOD"...?
Their grace is tailored to them and their circumstances and His plan for their life.
His grace for their situation is sufficient for them.
And His grace for YOUR situation is sufficient for YOU.
I believe that’s why when you see God let someone live through one thing and emerge nearly unscathed but someone else in a similar situation didn’t come out so fortunate is because there’s different levels of grace for each person and His mercy for extending that grace is new EVERYDAY!
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22
He may let someone live 60+ years with unresolved beef; potentially giving them time or a grace period to get right.
But you may not have that kind of grace to keep holding on, so---
say it with me : "LET IT GO!"
When you don’t let it go when God says so,
You are entering into the dangerous territory of worshipping it and making that thing a god.
You’re putting that thing on the throne of your heart.
God is a jealous God, so that's a hard NO for me.
Don’t die in intentional disobedience.
I’m convinced Job still doesn't know why he went through - but had he kept holding on to the things in his past—yes, even after the death of his children - he wouldn’t have gotten the latter blessings.
God never told him why.
Being human, I’m sure for the rest of his life he wondered but we never read where he questioned God again as to why. (Job 1:1-19)
Trust me, you’re not doing you or God any favors by holding on to unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, old relationships, etc.
You're just being hard headed and stiff necked.
As a song I heard said "I wouldn't spend my time telling you nothing else but the truth."
So since you decided to hold on the NOUN LOL, and whine about it, the question becomes: how long will you mourn?
1 Samuel 16:1 reads: The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”
Ebonically speaking,
Baby, God be ready to move on LOL
He's not interested in building altars to our dead THINGS!
HE ALREADY KNOWS HOW IT'S GOING TO PLAY OUT!
NEW FLASH! TRUST HIM because He already KNOWS the end from the beginning!
You’re sick?
He already KNOWS the healing!
You’re grieving?
He already KNOWS the joy!
You’re broke?
He already KNOWS the provision!
HE IS THE BEGINNING OF ALL THESE THINGS & MORE!
His grace is sufficient for you as you go THROUGH— yes, He’ll give you time to go through and feel all the feelings BUT when He says let it go - THEN LET IT GO!
Don’t make Him repeat Himself! When He says : “I The Lord have spoken” it's the equivalent of your Mom saying “because I said so”. Get somewhere safe and LET IT GO!
